Our story
Founded in science. Built on a natural discovery.
Solar Foods was established in 2017 by two scientists – one from bioprocess engineering, one from energy systems research –who identified something remarkable: a naturally occurring single-cell organism that has been growing without sunlight for billions of years.
We are not a company that builds brands and fills them with ingredients. We are a science-based organization commercializing a natural discovery, building platform technology with potential well beyond any single product.
Our team is cross-disciplinary and multinational: scientists, engineers, food technologists, regulatory specialists, and commercial builders.
